Route 66
The classic cross-country road trip, Route 66 will take you from Los Angeles to Chicago. It doesn’t quite reach across from to coast to coast, but it’s still 2,110 miles of the best sights to see and one heck of a road trip to take with your significant other or best friends. The Loneliest Road is also the longest road of the three best cross-country road trips. If you’re up for the challenge, this 3,200-mile epic road trip will easily fulfill your road trip desire. Starting or ending in San Francisco and spanning all across the United States to Maryland, you’ll be stopping through quite a few states including Colorado, Illinois, and Ohio. You’ll even be passing through Washington D.C, which is a great sight to see on its own. Your main road will be US-50 and this will take you all across from east to west. Of course, you’ll find your fair share of classic chains along your route, but you’ll also pass through many smaller towns giving you a glimpse into the rest of the country.
