Power Rankings Change in the NBA for Week 12

Power Rankings Change in the NBA for Week 12

The Power Rankings show some changes in the NBA for Week 12 to offer us a new list with a new name at the top with a great record.

It might seem that teams wouldn’t change places or move around much during the week when we have the All-Star game.  Let’s take a look at how these rankings show for this week.

The Brooklyn Nets Take Over the Top Spot

The Nets move up from the second spot to the top place in the Power Rankings. They have a record of 24-13 after twelve weeks. This team has one of the top offenses in the league with scoring that’s incredible in every game. With the recent signing of Blake Griffin, this team is getting better and is ready to make a serious push in the playoffs.

The Phoenix Suns Have Moved Into Second

A move from fourth to second is what we see for the Phoenix Suns. This team is hot and only getting better every game. The leadership of Chris Paul coupled with the young talent on this team makes it one of the toughest teams in the NBA right now. The Suns’ record sits at 24-11, which is an impressive mark for a team that was a bottom-feeder two years ago.

The Utah Jazz Fall to Third in the Power Rankings

The end of the first half of the season gave the Jazz a 1-3 road trip record which was the cause of the fall to third. Don’t expect the Jazz to stay in this position for long. They still have the best record in the NBA at 27-9 and seem to be firing on all cylinders, despite the slight dip right before the All-Star Break. Get ready for an incredible second half of the season from this team.

The Philadelphia 76ers are Only Getting Better

After winning six of their last eight games, the 76ers have moved to the fourth position in the Power Rankings. This team may be without their two stars for acouple of games due to contact tracing, but when all players are present and healthy, this is a tough team to beat. Expect the 76ers to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

The Denver Nuggets are on the Rise in the Power Rankings

Moving from eighth to fifth, the Denver Nuggets are moving up and getting ready for a strong second half of the season. This team could be one of the toughest to beat when it’s time for the playoffs later this year. The Nuggets went into the All-Star Break with a 4-0 road trip, which is a serious confidence boost for this team.

The Los Angeles Lakers Keep On Falling

At one time, the Lakers were consistently on top of the NBA Power Rankings. Week 12 sees this team dropping three spots to sixth in the list. This drop continues because of the absence of Anthony Davis and the massive number of minutes that LeBron James has to play. The record is still a respectable 24-13 and with Davis coming back in a few weeks, this team could make a serious push to try and win a second championship in two years.

The Milwaukee Bucks Fall to Seventh

Last week, the Bucks were fifth on this list and now they have dropped to seventh. Their 22-14 record is one that does put them in a good position to make some noise in the playoffs, but they just might be missing some pieces that could make a difference. The Bucks are a team to watch during the second half of the season to see if they will be strong enough the rest of the way.

Moving Down to Eight in the Power Rankings You’ll Find the Los Angeles Clippers

Even though the Clippers are built with a pair of superstars, those two players seem to miss games or part of games more often than desired. The Clippers were in sixth last week but find themselves in the eighth spot this week. Even with nagging injuries to the stars, this team has a 24-14 record right now, which gives them a good start to make a strong push during the second half of the season.
