The Best Dodge Cars of All Time

Dodge Burnout

Dodge has long been known for some of its famous muscle cars that combined both powerful engines and eye-catching styling.

You may be able to find some of these famous Dodge cars at your local Dodge dealer, but some of them are bonafide classics and will definitely take some searching if you want to park one in your garage.

Dodge Viper

Looking like a comic book supercar, the 1992 Dodge Viper turned heads everywhere it went. The Viper was a strange egg for its time, and it did have some rather peculiar features as well. It didn’t have any side windows or a proper roof as these corners were cut to make the car lighter. The Dodge Viper stayed in production until 2010 when it was briefly discontinued until 2013. The last model year of the Viper was 2017. The Viper was initially designed to be a very bare-bones sports car featuring nothing but raw power. You could say it was like the Jeep Wrangler of sports cars for its time. Later generations did get more modern technology and safety features.

Dodge Dart GTS

The Dodge Dart emerged on the scene in 1963, but it wasn’t until a refresh in 1967 that the Dart confirmed its legendary status as an exciting classic car. With an eye-catching and aggressive look, the 1967 Dodge Dart was part of the muscle car crew and one of the first Dodge vehicles to feature a big engine in a light body. The Dart remains one of the classic hot rods from that time period. Finding one at your Dodge dealer these days might be tough, but you never know where classic Dodge cars might end up.

Dodge Charger

Unlike the Dodge Dart, the Dodge Charger is a modern model you can find at your local Dodge dealer. However, the Charger has a long history as a classic muscle car before its modern reinvention. Popularly featured in The Dukes of Hazzard TV show, the 1969 Dodge Charger was one of the most recognizable cars on the road during its initial run. The Dodge Charger put out impressive horsepower for its time and its engine weighed half a ton, but it was still able to be one of the fastest muscle cars in a straight line. The initial run of the Dodge Charger went until 1987, and the car’s appearance changed drastically from its original muscle roots. The Charger was reinvented for the modern era starting in the 2006 model year.

Dodge Avenger

The Dodge Avenger was a surprisingly feisty sport compact and mid-sized sedan that initially ran from 1995 through 2000 model years, and then again from 2008 to 2014. It was built to take the place of the Dodge Daytona, which was discontinued in 1994. The first round of the Avenger was meant to fill a popular niche at the time of peppy sport compact cars. The second round of the Avenger was as a midsize sedan with a slightly retro appearance. The Avenger sedan is the model you’ll most likely see at your Dodge dealer these days.

From classic muscle cars to 90s sports cars, Dodge has well-known model entries in just about every category. You can find more modern iterations at your local Dodge dealer.
