Top 7 Cutest Animals In The World

Animals can be really cute. This is certainly true when you see baby animals with their mothers. Here are seven of the cutest animals in the world.

What makes us love animals and find them adorable, attractive, and funny? Many times, we love to see animals performing actions that we could see ourselves doing. Whether it’s scratching our heads, picking bugs off a neighbor, or feeding a young version of that species, these are things we tend to find pretty cute. Of course, it helps if an animal has large eyes, an adorable face, or some big ears.

Here are seven of the cutest animals in the world.

Margay

The Margay is a small cat that’s native to Central and South America. Unfortunately, because of declining rain forests, the number of Margays is quickly declining. These cats love to spend time among the trees and various plant life. They prefer the cover of nature to wide open spaces. The Margay loves to climb the trees, and it has a broad face with short ears and large eyes. How could it not be included in our list?

Elephant Shrew

The Elephant Shrew is one of the cutest animals you’ll ever see. These small mammals eat insects and are native to Africa. The name comes from the pointed head and trunk-like nose, which gives it a serious cuteness factor. These small creatures love to burrow in sandy soil and can be found in semi-desert climates, dry grasses, and shrubland areas. There are a few different versions of the Elephant Shrew, giving a few different appearances to make them interesting animals that could be fun to photograph.

Quokka

The Quokka is closely related to the wallaby and is considered one of the happiest animals on the planet. This animal feeds at night and is an herbivore, feasting on varieties of plant life found on the smaller islands off the Western Australian coast where it lives. Quokkas just look happy with a constant grin on its face, small ears, large noses, and beady eyes. They often put their hands together as if to ask for another serving of food in the most polite way.

Fennec Fox

With large ears on a small head, the Fennec Fox is easily one of the cutest animals in the world. This animal is a small nocturnal creature that’s native to the Sahara Desert and the Sinai Peninsula. The large ears are used to dissipate heat, giving them a purpose. The Fennec Fox is the smallest dog family species, which makes it an interesting animal. In addition to the adorable ears, these animals have the fox markings, bushy tails, and facial features that make them distinctive in a desert climate.

Numbat

The Numbat looks a lot like the crazy squirrel from Ice Age but is not a squirrel at all. Instead, this animal is known as a banded anteater and is an endangered marsupial living in Australia. Numbats have long sticky tongues that make it possible for them to pick up termites. These bugs are the only things Numbats eat. Upon recent count, there were less than 1,000 of these creatures left in the world. This reduction is mostly due to habitat destruction. Numbats live in the hot, arid parts of southern Australia.

Meerkat

It would be difficult to have a list of the world’s cutest animals and leave the Meerkat off. This critter is a small mongoose found in southern Africa and was portrayed as a bit crazy in the Madagascar movies. The broad head, large eyes, pointed nose, and small ears give it a more human appearance than most other animals. These animals are extremely social, which makes them great animals to see at any zoo. Meerkats tend to live in groups and are native to the South Africa and Botswana area.

Red Panda

The Red Panda doesn’t look much like a Panda, save for the small ears and facial features. This carnivore is native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. Strangely, the Red Pandas were first to receive the panda name. This version was discovered nearly fifty years before the black and white pandas were discovered. Red Pandas are about the same size as a house cat and are protected in their native areas.

These are seven of the cutest animals in the world. When you look at their faces, see their features, and admire their looks and mannerisms, it’s easy to see why they made the list.
