If you’re visiting the city for the first time, you won’t want to miss seeing these iconic locations. It’s okay to feel a little touristy, this is your first time in Los Angeles, after all.

Hollywood Walk of Fame near Los Angeles

You can’t visit Los Angeles and not walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is definitely a very tourist-packed location, but worth seeing at least once. You can find your favorite celebrity’s star on the sidewalk, check out the Grauman’s Chinese

Theatre, do a little shopping in the center, and take a break by having lunch at one of the many hot spots in the center. Be careful not to be tricked into hopping on a bus for a tour to celebrities’ houses because there are a few illegitimate people who try to take advantage of tourists. If you do decide to book a tour, make sure it’s with a credible agency or business.

Hollywood Sign

Seeing the Hollywood Sign from afar is one thing, but it’s even more amazing to see it in person. There’s a small parking area within a neighborhood where you can leave your car and start the trek up to the see the sign.

Depending on the time of year you visit Los Angeles, make sure to bring a jacket because the higher you climb, the cooler the air will be. You can’t get right up next to the sign because it’s roped off for safety reasons, but you can still capture some memorable photos and check the sign off your bucket list.

Griffith Observatory Near Los Angeles Gives You a Gorgeous View

The Griffith Observatory is another place where you’ll find stunning views of the city. You may have to walk up the long driveway depending on where you’re able to find parking. This iconic observatory attracts astronomy enthusiasts and tourists from all over. There are exhibits and rich history to keep you entertained for a couple of hours. Before you leave, make sure to stop by the gift shop for a souvenir.

Santa Monica Pier

If the weather is especially lovely during your visit, make sure to block off a few hours and visit the Santa Monica Pier. There are shops and restaurants that will have you window shopping for hours before and after you check out the Ferris wheel on the pier.

There’s just something so whimsical and youthful about a pier filled with carnival games. It’s a fun spot for all ages, and while you’re there, you can take a walk on the beach and take some pretty amazing pictures to remember your trip.
