Oktoberfest Is Returning to Munich

Traveling around the globe is open once again, and Oktoberfest is back on. After two years of pause, Munich will once again celebrate.

This festival was first held in 1810 in honor of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese, but it is mainly known as a festival of beer and food. This year, the festival takes place from September 17 to October 3, Germany’s national day. The two-year pause caused by the coronavirus pandemic wasn’t the first time this festival was postponed during its more than 200-year history.
